Sightseeing in Letterkenny

is Donegal’s main shopping town, situated in the North East of Donegal on the shores of Lough Swilly. The town offers visitors extensive historical & recreational facilities and also an exciting nightlife and music venues. Letterkenny's night life has been growing through the years and with a large student population from the LYIT, the social scene is young and vibrant.

Letterkenny is a great place to shop with many of the top Irish and UK retailers having outlets in the town. There are many pubs and nightclubs and there is a great selection of restaurants providing all types of local and international cuisine.

Letterkenny is only a 30 minute drive from Derry City & Derry City Wall (City of Culture 2013), Glenveagh National Park, Donegal Town and the Blue Stacks mountain range, with regular bus services available to access the rest of the county and country.

Letterkenny is located 20 miles west of Derry City and 35 miles north of Donegal Town and is the largest town in Co. Donegal. The town has many interesting monuments and buildings, both new and old. Letterkenny also has some interesting art galleries and museums including the fascinating New Mills Corn & Flax Mills.
